Remembering Kelsey Howard
The Picket Fence Foundation family is heartbroken by the loss of our beloved team member, Kelsey Howard. Kelsey served as an Employment Support Provider, working side by side with individuals with disabilities across every part of our organization. She brought her full heart to the work—offering encouragement, compassion, and steady support with an energy that was simply contagious.
Kelsey had a gift for making people feel seen. Her creativity turned routine tasks into meaningful moments of connection among teammates, her humor lifted spirits, and her care helped participants thrive. She connected with everyone—coworkers, participants, and customers alike—and her absence is deeply felt in every corner of our space.
Recently, Kelsey was especially excited to help launch our pilot internship program. True to form, she welcomed new participants with fresh fruit trays, thoughtful conversation, and lighthearted jokes that eased first-day nerves. That’s just who she was: someone who showed up with generosity and made people feel like they belonged.
